Post Idols

  • 2 Totems (FRONT and REAR)
  • Made with 25-30 Upcycled car lights

In ancestral societies, the totem pole was a sacred structure, a symbol of the tribes that came together to honour their deities through ritual dances.

Contemporary car designers use the design of headlights to give their vehicles an anthropomorphic character, sometimes presented as the carmaker's ‘signature light’.
Once a cult and personification object, the car is now perceived differently by society.

This installation, made up of upcycled headlights salvaged from defunct cars, questions the future of our modes of transport.

At night, the lights on the totems send out celestial signals, with an hypnotic musicale piece, creating a mystical and spellbinding atmosphere.
