2 Totems
Height: 4,5m
Made with 25-30 Upcycled car lights
POST IDOLS is a double sculpture made entirely from recycled (upcycled) car headlights.
These discarded components are reborn as new monuments, revealing our society's long-standing fascination with the car as a symbol of speed, power and projected freedom.
The installation is accompanied by an original soundscape combining electronic textures and ghostly engine noises.
This immersive, almost tribal composition reinforces the ritualistic dimension of the work, as if the totems still carried within them the vibrant memory of their former function.
At night, dynamic lighting animates these hybrid silhouettes.
The totems seem to come to life: they observe, they watch, they remember... or perhaps they are waiting to be worshipped once again.
Between memory and transition, the work evokes the end of a cult and the emergence of new, gentler, more lasting imaginaries.
